Kitten Care

Age 6-8 weeks

  • Complete physical examination
  • Felv/FIV test (leukemia, and feline imuno-deficiency virus test)
  • Initial FVRCP vaccine (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calici, panleukopenia)
  • Oral deworming and consultation on intestinal parasite control
  • Initial application of topical flea and tick control
  • Discussion of health and socialization recommendations

Age 12 weeks

  • Physical examination
  • FVRCP 2nd booster
  • Initial leukemia ( Felv) vaccine
  • Fecal testing (please bring a sample less than 6 hours old)
  • Consultation on the prevention of heartworm disease
  • Discussion of health and development

Age 16 weeks

  • Physical examination
  • Rabies vaccine, tag, and certificate
  • FVRCP 3rd booster
  • Felv 2nd booster
  • Discussion of health and development
  • Next vaccines due 1 year later

Age 20 weeks

  • Microchip identification (recommended)
  • Surgical spay for female kittens (recommended)
  • Surgical neuter for male kittens (recommended)
Puppy Care

Age 6-8 weeks

  • Complete physical examination
  • Initial DHPP vaccine (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvovirus)
  • Oral deworming and consultation on intestinal parasite control
  • First application of topical flea and tick control
  • Discussion of health and socialization recommendations

Age 12 weeks

  • Physical examination
  • DHPP 2nd booster
  • Initial leptospirosis vaccine if indicated
  • Bordetella vaccine for kennel cough (optional)
  • Fecal testing (please bring a sample less than 6 hours old)
  • Initial dose of heartworm prevention
  • Consultation on the prevention of heartworm disease
  • Discussion of health and development

Age 16 weeks

  • Physical examination
  • DHPP 3rd booster
  • Leptospirosis 2nd booster
  • Bordetella 2nd booster
  • Rabies vaccine, rabies tag, certificate, and licensing information
  • Discussion of health and development
  • Next vaccines due 1 year later

Age 20-24 weeks

  • Microchip identification (recommended)
  • Surgical spay for female puppies (recommended)
  • Surgical neuter for male puppies (recommended)
