Critical Care/ICU

In an effort to keep our most critical cases safe and comfortable, we feature the latest monitoring equipment and strategically place these cases close to the doctor’s office for continuous support.

Digital Radiology

Digital radiology is a modern diagnostic procedure that allows us to look at our patients from the inside out. Much like digital photographs that are manipulated into a clear image, our digital radiology tools allow us to take a photo of the internals workings.

Since the technique doesn’t require a darkroom or chemicals, the process is quick and the image is clear. The digital aspect of the process is easier for pets and our diagnostic procedures and it also allows us to digitally share images with other for second opinions if consult is needed.

Surgery
Our knowledgeable team of surgeons at Mt Shasta Animal Hospital provides a range of surgical services. Your pet’s comfort and well-being are top-of-mind, which is why we promise to provide safe, monitored anesthesia and proven pain management techniques.
All of our surgery patients receive the best care. In addition to standard care procedures, owners have the option to incorporate pre-operative laboratory panels into the process and can purchase pain medication and buster collars to promote safe, comfortable healing.

Ultrasound

The ability to perform ultrasound is still considered a relatively new offering in the veterinary medicine field. We are happy to consider ourselves well qualified in this practice. The use of ultrasound helps the veterinarian gain invaluable information that can oftentimes be overlooked by other diagnostic methods. Furthermore, ultrasound is non-invasive, making it relatively painless for your pet, and are usually performed in less than 30 minutes. However, if your pet starts showing signs of discomfort, we are happy to administer a light sedative.

Types of Ultrasound:

Abdominal ultrasounds help diagnose gastrointestinal tract tumors, organ enlargement and pregnancy. If the diagnosis cannot be confirmed by ultrasound, the vet may conduct other tests to rule out potential concerns.
